The beginning of 2021 has been eventful for Match 3 games on the iOS platform in France. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a snapshot of the performance of the top contenders in this category. Here's how the top 5 Match 3 games fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Candy Crush Saga by King maintained its sweet spot with revenues peaking at $222K in mid-January before dipping to around $185K by the end of March. Downloads saw a high of 16K in mid-February but settled around 9K by the quarter's end. The weekly active users showed resilience, hovering around the 250K mark throughout the quarter.

Playrix's Homescapes saw revenues start strong at $203K in the first week of January, dipping to $109K by the close of March. The game's downloads peaked at 32K in late December, with a gentle decline to 18K by the end of March. Weekly active users started at 327K, dipped mid-quarter, but remained robust with 295K active users in the last week.

Another Playrix title, Gardenscapes, showed similar revenue patterns to Homescapes, starting at $131K in January and ending the quarter with around $125K. Downloads were highest in early February at 20K and saw a slight decrease to 16K by March's end. Active user counts remained steady, starting at 125K and dipping slightly to 113K.

DRAGON BALL Z DOKKAN BATTLE by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. had a more volatile revenue path, with an impressive $297K at the end of December, a sharp drop in mid-January to $63K, and a climb back to $144K to close the quarter. Downloads and active users experienced minor fluctuations, maintaining around 2K downloads per week and active users in the range of 85K to 101K.

Lastly, Magic Tavern, Inc.'s Project Makeover showed steady revenue growth from $66K in late December to a peak of $78K in mid-January, ending the quarter around $60K. Downloads started strong at 75K but saw a significant drop to 23K by March. Despite this, weekly active users climbed from 127K to 179K, showing a growing engaged user base.
